14 & 15 weeks

Milestones:  I didn’t weigh her, but she has to be over 14 pounds by now.

Sleeping/ Eating: We had family here and then we traveled to CA to see family and friends and she slept pretty good while we were down there, but our schedule wasn’t routine. Now that we are home she has been having a rough time with sleep, going to be around 8 pm and waking up several times starting at 3 am. This week I plan to get her nap schedule back on track during the day so she starts sleeping better again. I also think teething is causing her pain and waking her up. She has been increasingly fussy when feeding and wants only bottles more and more.

Clothing: In all 3-6 month clothes. I need to start putting away outfits that she has grown out of.

Avery’s Favorites:  My mom had a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal and she loved it. That thing made her crack up whenever you put it in front of her. When I got home I took out this elephant stuffed animal I had in her room and she just smiles so much. She is definitely more into books and loves when we sing head, shoulders, knees and toes to her. My mom, sister, and I looked crazy singing it together and moving all around. She also loves time on the changing table and being naked. She just smiles and laughs at Tyler.

Things I want to remember:

She is much more aware of everything around her and in better control of her arms and hands. Avery is much more smilie at everyone even strangers. I was shocked when she was smiling at everyone on the plane. There were so many people that commented on what a sweet happy baby she is.

What we did this week

We did our first flight down to California to see family and friends. This momma was a little nervous about how it all was going to go. Originally I had thought Tyler could take us to the airport and help us get through security, but it turned out he was out of town on business so I had to pack and go by myself. The most stressful part was getting through security. I tried to time Avery’s eating, but she ended up getting pretty fussy while we were going through. Once we were past security she was loving the airport. They have these spinning mobile things in one of the food areas and she was so entertained. The stewardess was so nice on our flight and found a window and middle seat for us so we could keep her carseat. Avery was an angel and slept the entire flight.  The week was filled with fun getting to introduce her to family and friends. We also had a baby shower for my sweet friend Andrea who is expecting her first baby girl in April. Avery got to meet her cousin Cora that is 6 weeks younger than her. Even though we don’t live close by these girls are going to be good friends. Hopefully whenever we go visit Grammy and Grampy the girls will get to play and have fun together. It is much harder to be away from family now that babies are involved. I would love to go over to my parents house a few times a week just to hang out with the babies. Avery will just have to stay a great traveler, because we will be going down as much as we can. Tyler wasn’t able to go with us and we missed him so much.

One, Two, and Three months

Milestones:  She is now 13.5 pounds and i think half of it is in her cheeks.

Sleeping/ Eating: With the holidays and family visiting her sleeping has been all over the place. We tried getting her to bed regularly, but she went to bed late a lot of the time. Same eating half feeding and half formula.

Clothing: Three month clothes are too small. I think she wore most of her outfits in that size one or two times. It is crazy how fast they grow out of things.

Avery’s Favorites:  She loves to be held so she can stand up  or sit up. If you prop her up or put her against something she is able to sit there easily.  Avery is so strong and loves to look around.

Things I want to remember:  At 3 months she is her own person. She really has likes and dislikes and wants new things to discover and enjoy. When we go on walks  she looks around and really takes in the scenery. She gets bored easily, when she was smaller I could just hold her and she would be content. Now she wants to move or play with toys or sing songs or on an outing.

What we did this week

My parents and sister came to see Avery this week.  My sister was so naturally nurturing with Avery. She was smiling and cooing the moment Laura held her and talked with her. I love seeing Avery through other people’s eyes. We hung out at the house, went on walks, went shopping, and just spent time together. My ideal world would be all of our family in the same state within 30 minutes. That is not reality for our family so we cherish every moment we spend together.
